1. Why can't I login?

    Every customer must register their storage account with a username, password, and valid email address. If you have not already registered your account, you may register it here.

    After you register your account, you will receive an email requesting you validate your email address. You must click the link in the email to validate your account. If your email program receives text email only, you may need to copy the full address in the link into your browser address bar to load the validation page. If you have difficulty with this, please Contact Us.

    If you have forgotten your Username or Password, you can reset them. To reset your Username and Password, click here.

  2. How long are your storage leases?

    Uncle Bob's Rental Agreements are month-to-month, with no long-term commitment or minimum stay. The rental term begins on the first of each month and lasts the entire month. Your full rental payment is due on the first.

  3. How can I make a payment?

    Many customers prefer our automatic credit card payment option. When you sign up for auto charge, we will charge your credit card at the beginning of each month saving you the trouble of mailing in a check. Other payment options include mailing a check, paying in person at your Uncle Bob's office or paying right here on our website at Make a Payment. The choice is yours!

  4. What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover® at our store offices and here on our website. To make your payment online, Login and choose Make a Payment.

    Uncle Bob's also accepts check and cash payments at our store offices. If you are mailing your check, please mail it to your local Uncle Bob's store office and reference your space number on the check.

    If you prefer to make payment through your bank's bill payment service, please set your local Uncle Bob's store office as the payment destination, and reference your space number in the payment (usually as the account number).

  5. When are payments due?

    Payments are due on the 1st of the month.

    As outlined in our Terms of Use, if you are not able to access your online account (website availability, difficulty logging into or registering your account, etc.), your normal payment due date still applies. Please contact your Uncle Bob's store to make other payment arrangements.

  6. Do you offer payment reminders?

    Yes, you may set up a Payment Reminder by logging in and choosing My Alerts. The Payment Reminder will be sent to the email address you specify on any day of the month that you choose.

  7. What happens if my payment is late?

    Uncle Bob's follows all state laws governing fees for late payments and liens on severely delinquent accounts. In most states, customers will have until close of business on the 5th day of the month before a late fee is assessed. A late fee is assessed on the 6th day of the month and unit access is denied. In some states, an additional late fee may be applied by the 20th of the month if payment has still not been received. Should payment be more than one month late, the account enters a "lien" status in which additional fees are posted to cover associated legal expenses. Once an account is in "lien" status all payments must be made at the store office with cash, money order, or certified check.

    Please note that your payment is due on the first of the month.   8. What is a storage auction?

    Auctions are a legal means to clear items from a space when a customer has not made their contractual rental payments; each is conducted according to local and state laws. However, auctions are a last resort and something Uncle Bob's would rather not do. It is in the best interest of Uncle Bob's and the delinquent customer to come to a settlement and avoid the heartache and expense of conducting an auction of the items in the space. If you find that you are severely past-due, please stay in contact with us so we can resolve the matter quickly and avoid this process.

  9. Do I have to give notice to vacate my unit?

    Yes, we require a Vacate Notice in writing. You may submit this notice on the same day that you clear out your space and remove your lock. This is very important - a lock indicates you are still occupying the unit and your Rental Agreement will be renewed and your account charged. The law prohibits us from removing your lock without special consent from you. Please see our Vacate Notice Procedures for more information and the Vacate Notice form.

  10. Do I need insurance?

    Yes, it is in everyone's best interest that our customers carry insurance. Just like an apartment complex, Uncle Bob's insures our buildings and grounds and our customers insure the items they put into storage. We require all customers to provide proof of insurance; otherwise, we offer inexpensive coverage through a third party provider that is payable each month with your rental payment.

  11. I pre-paid and need to move out sooner than I thought. Will I get a refund?

    Yes, as long as you notify your Uncle Bob's store office before the 1st of the month you prepaid for.

    If you have made advance payments on your account and need to move out before you anticipated, we will refund your pre-paid rent (in full month increments, or any unused days prior to the 20th of the month).

    For example, if you prepaid for November and will move out November 21st, we will not refund 9 days of November. However, if you paid for November and December and notify us by November 1st that you will vacate on November 19th, we will refund your payment for the 11 days of November and full month of December. Refunds are sent by mail - please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

  12. I will move out next month. Do I need to pay for the full month's rent?

    Our rental payments are due the 1st of each month for the full month's rent. However, if you notify us of your departure date by the 1st of the month, you may prepay for the days you need next month at a daily rate. Please contact your Uncle Bob's store office to arrange a mid-month departure. Please note, if you plan to vacate after the 20th of the month, we do not offer the daily rate - a full month's rent will be due.

  13. I need to contact my Uncle Bob's Office about my account. How do I do this?

    The best way to reach your Uncle Bob's office is by telephone. You can find the local phone number of your store right here on this website by logging in or choosing our Contact Us page. If your only means to contact us is electronically, please use our Contact Form. When doing so, please keep in mind that our individual stores will not be able to respond electronically, so always include an alternative return contact method.
